Ganesh Mosaic Art

Ganesha Chaturthi is celebrated/observed on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 this year.

This is the Hindu celebration of the birth of Lord Ganesha.  His life represents prosperity, wisdom, and good fortune.

We have put together a craft for children ages 1-6.  This is a great way to get creative with kids while learning about the festival. You can also listen to the Ganesha Story from our Treasure Tales album while making the art. We hope you and your children enjoy this as much as we did.

Supplies:

  • Dot Markers
  • Ganesha Image
  • Scissors
  • Glue Sticks
  • Construction Paper/Colored Paper

For children ages 1-3, have them simply color in the Ganesha Image using their dot markers. They can make it as colorful or messy as they like.

For children ages 4-6, have them cut or ripe up the construction paper into small pieces.  Then glue them to the different parts of the Ganesha image.  This is a great gross motor activity as they work on cutting with scissors and gluing their pieces.

Don’t forget to check out or selection of Ganesha books and audio albums to learn more about Lord Ganesha.
