Lord Mahavir is the 24th Tirthankara. He was born in 599 BC. His father’s name was King Siddhartha and his mother’s name was Queen Trishala. So when the baby was born, he was named Vardhaman, which means 'continuously increasing’. He was very brave. The book talks about how Vardhaman got the name "Mahavir" and his life.
