How to Throw a Craft Party – Great Summer and Birthday Party Idea

How to Throw a Craft Party

Everyone loves a party and we at Kulture Khazana love a Craft Party.  We love unleashing our creativity, gathering friends and family, and having fun.   Whether it?s a rainy day, a birthday party or a mid-summer reason to call friends together, we have everything you need to set yourself up for a successful and fun craft party.  And guess what? It?s not just for kids! You can even create a wine and painting night for your girlfriends, where you might end up with a fabulous new home accessory.

Prepping is Key

Order Supplies and Send Invites: Start by ordering all the necessary art supplies and sending out invites. Remind guests to wear clothes they don?t mind getting messy. Consider all-in-one craft kits like our Rangoli Coaster Kit or Rangoli Mandala Coloring and Sticker Book.

Extras and Backup: Have a few extra supplies on hand in case something goes wrong during crafting. Some guests may finish quickly, so keep simple activities like coloring with paper and crayons available. Also, think about how many adults you?ll need to assist, depending on the age group.

Set Up

Set up a craft party with supplies

Prepare Your Space: Set up your crafting area. Use a drop cloth and have a few extra pain brushed. Choose a space that accommodates your guests comfortably?maybe even set up a tent with a table in the backyard for an artsy vibe.

Supplies Accessibility: Walk through each craft project and ensure all supplies are readily accessible. Also, consider how guests will carry their finished crafts home. Do you need bags, trays, or a space to let them dry?

Trash and Cleanup: Set up trash cans, recycling bins, and containers in advance. Having them ready will make cleanup a breeze once the party is over. It can be a great way to get kids involved in the cleanup.

Make an Example

Show and Inspire: Often overlooked but crucial, create a sample of the craft project. Kids will get excited about what they?re going to make, and it provides a guideline for the process. Plus, it helps you remember all the necessary supplies and work through your set up.? As you start your craft, you?ll remember things like rinsing water and a rag to dry brushes. Kids also love visual cues?they?ll be inspired by your example.

Get Crafting

Time to put all the time and effort into action.   Show your example, explain the supplies and walk your guests through a general process for the craft.   Next, step back and watch the creativity flow as each guest takes their personal touch to the craft.   Depending on the age group of your guests, try to get in on the action and make something yourself.  It?s a fun way to engage with others and creativity is contagious.

Show and Tell

After crafting, let the kids show off their creations. Encourage them to explain what they made, how they were inspired, and what they enjoyed about the craft. Their pride in sharing is priceless.

Clean Up

The cleanup doesn?t have to be dreadful. Encourage guests to straighten up their spaces?many hands make light work. Keep reusable items and maybe even cardboard boxes for future crafting adventures.  Prepositioned trash, recycling and storage containers will assist in making things less chaotic.
